Pennetta pulls out of Brisbane International

The Italian Fed Cup champion Flavia Pennetta has become the second woman in as many days to withdraw from the Brisbane Tennis International.

The world number 24 pulled out of Tuesday's first-round clash with compatriot Roberta Vinci due to illness and was replaced by lucky loser Christina McHale from the US.

It came 24 hours after world number 30 Daniela Hantuchova withdrew shortly before her first-round match after suffering an Achilles tendon tear.

McHale, 18, is currently ranked number 109 in the world.
