The American football side the New York Jets, playoff-bound as an AFC wildcard team, have regained their dominant form with a 38-7 battering of the Buffalo Bills in their regular season finale.

The win gave the Jets, who dropped three of their last four contests entering the game, their best regular-season record in 12 years.

The Jets rested many key players ahead of next week's first round of the playoffs, and relied on a punishing ground game to complete an 11-5 campaign.

Five different players scored touchdowns for the Jets who also forced six turnovers, including four interceptions in the rout.
