Seven-time Tour de France cycle champion Lance Armstrong has been forced to withdraw from next month's Blue Lake Multisport Festival in Rotorua.
Messages posted on a Twitter account linked to Armstrong says he is struggling to deal with a knee problem.
He will now return to the United States immediately after competing in the Tour Down Under in Australia.
