Light at end of tunnel for Black Caps?

Things may be turning around for the New Zealand cricketers.

A new coach, a new teenage pace bowler with potential and most importantly, a victory.

The five-wicket Twenty20 win over Pakistan at Eden Park saw 18-year-old Central Districts quick Adam Milne debut, showing some real pace and new coach John Wright began his tenure with a win.

Black Caps captain Dan Vettori's sitting out the T20 series to rest his back but he says he's enthusiastic about the motivation the man they call "Wrighty" brings into their camp.

Vettori maintains he still intends to step down from the captaincy after next year's one day World Cup.

He may yet play for Northern Districts in the HRV Cup if they make the final, otherwise he's targeting the warm-up three-day match for a New Zealand XI against Pakistan in Whangarei on January 2nd.
