Busy summer ahead for Black Sticks

6:54 am on 26 December 2010

The Black Sticks will play 14 matches in New Zealand in February against top ranked international hockey teams - Korea, Japan and Belgium.

The series will see the Black Sticks Men play Korea, Japan and Belgium while the women take on Korea in Auckland, Whangarei, Hamilton and Tauranga.

Hockey New Zealand's High Performance Manager Toni Cumpston says the aim is to give both teams as much top quality international competition as possible before the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The big weekend of the series will be the double header matches in Auckland on February 12 and 13 when the women will play their final two matches against Korea and the men will play Korea and Belgium.
