The American midfielder Landon Donovan will not be heading back to England's Everton on loan.
In a joint-statement with his club LA Galaxy Donovan says while he enjoyed his time at Everton last season it's important to continue to rest and recover in the off-season after .playing nearly non-stop for two years.
He says this will allow him to perform at his best for the Galaxy and the USA.
Donovan had spent the previous winter break on loan to Bayern Munich and after his spell with Everton he was part of the U.S. World Cup team in South Africa.
