Joseph looking for leadership in Haghlanders

The new Highlanders rugby coach Jamie Joseph knows he's in for a tough season in the new Super Rugby competition.

Joseph has taken over a side that has struggled in recent years finishing 12th, 11th, 11th, 9th and 9th.

His squad of 32 has just six Otago players while there are 15 new players.

Joseph believes leadership is a key area for his side and that is why the management and senior players spent some time on Stewart Island recently.

The Southland prop Jamie MacIntosh will captain the Highlanders next year.
