The Karachi City Cricket Association has confirmed Pakistan test bowler Mohammad Sami is under investigation after being accused of brawling and damaging hotel furniture while drunk.

The Association's president Siraj Bukhari says they were told Sami fought with a teammate and damaged hotel property while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

He added a detailed report had been summoned from the Karachi Blues team management on the incident that took place on Wednesday at a hotel in Rawalpindi, where the team is set to play its Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match.

However Sami was adamant he was not under the influence of alcohol.

He confirmed he had a misunderstanding with a fellow player but says reports he was drunk are not true.

It's also been reported that the hotel management had complained to the team management and sought compensation for the damage to property by the 29-year-old cricketer.

The paceman, with 35 tests and 83 one-day international appearances under his belt, has been in and out of the national team and last played against South Africa in Abu Dhabi last month.
