AC Milan extend lead in Serie A

6:20 pm on 13 December 2010

AC Milan have opened up a six-point gap at the top of the Serie A ladder after winning for the 10th time in 12 Italian football league games with a 3-nil victory at Bologna.

Milan's thumping win was then boosted as title rivals Lazio slumped to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Juventus, those two sides joined by Napoli in a three-way tie for second spot.

Goals from Kevin-Prince Boateng, Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic eased Milan to a comfortable victory which also guarantees top spot in a week's time when Serie A shuts down for its winter break.

Lazio dropped to fourth on the same number of points with Napoli third following their 1-0 win at Genoa on Saturday.
