Breakers beat Taipans

The New Zealand Breakers have gone back on top of the Australian National Basketball League standings after beating the Cairns Taipans 93-79 on the North Shore.

The Breakers moved away from their opponents in the 4th quarter with a 20 to 3 run with Kirk Penney top scoring with 25 points, while Gary Wilkinson had 14.

The Breakers now have an 8 and 2 record and top the standings from Wollongong who have played one game less.

The Taipans stay third.

The Breakers play a double header in Australia next week against Wollongong and melbourne.
