Sampras loses trophies, memorabilia

Tennis legend Pete Sampras has been robbed of many of his trophies and memorabilia from his fabled career.

Sampras told the Los Angeles Times the items, stolen three weeks ago, included two Davis Cup trophies, his first Australian Open trophy, six year-end world number one trophies and an Olympic ring, which were taken from a Los Angeles public storage rental unit he'd used while his family moved home.

The stolen memorabilia included an autographed piano bench from Elton John and an autographed guitar from Carlos Santana.

Sampras said nothing was insured because there's no way to place a monetary value on the items.
