Despite having just completed the marathon six-round final PGA tour qualifying tournament in Florida, the New Zealand golfers Josh Geary, Tim Wilkinson and Michael Hendry will be teeing off on Thursday at the Australian PGA championship in Queensland.

All three missed out on PGA tour cards, though Geary and Wilkinson have qualified for America's second tier Nationwide Tour next year, and Hendry is well qualified for next year's OneAsia tour as the winner of a major event in Indonesia earlier this year.

There are nine New Zealanders in the field at Coolum, including Gareth Paddison, Michael Campbell and Michael Long, who all finished in the top 20 at last week's Australian Open.
