England go one-nil up in Ashes series

England's beaten Australia by an innings and 71 runs in the second Ashes cricket Test in Adelaide, to take a one-nil lead in the five-match series.

The England offspinner Graeme Swann took five wickets as the tourists dismissed Australia for 304 in their second innings.

Australia began the final day at 238 for four still needing another 137 to make England bat again, but lost their last six wickets for 66 runs.

England, who hold the Ashes, now need to win only one of the three remaining Tests to retain the trophy.

The England batsman Kevin Pietersen who made 227 in England's only innings of 620 for five declared was named man of the match.

The third Test begins in Perth on Thursday week, however Stuart Broad won't be playing he pulled a stomach muscle and has been ruled out of the remainder of the tour.

Australia will also be without opener Simon Katich for the rest of the series, who's partially torn his Achilles tendon.
