The world tennis number three Novak Djokovic and the unheralded Viktor Troicki swept Serbia to an historic first Davis Cup title in Belgrade, overturning an overnight deficit to beat nine-time winners France 3-2.

Troicki, the world number 30, who'd been in the losing doubles team on the second day, beat Michael Llodra in straight sets, after Djokovic had crushed Gael Monfils.

Troicki was a late replacement in the deciding rubber for Janko Tipsarevic who'd lost his singles match on the opening day.

Djokovic hailed the Belgrade crowd as the difference between the two sides and credited the historic win to a complete team performance.
