Winning start for NZ at World Team squash champs

New Zealand's had a comfortable win in the opening round of pool play at the Women's World Team Squash Championships in Palmerston North.

The hosts beat Canada 3-0 with the Commonwealth Games star Joelle King, Shelley Kitchen and the number one Jaclyn Hawkes needing just over 20 minutes for their matches.

Hawkes says she was hitting a good length and is reasonably happy about her game with tougher opponents ahead.

The fifth seeded New Zealanders' opponents tomorrow in Pool D , Hong Kong, were well beaten by the fourth seeds Malaysia while the top seeds England beat the USA.
