The All Blacks have sealed their third Grand Slam in five years, beating Wales 37-25 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Wales had their tails up after half-time when New Zealand led 13-9 as replacement Daniel Braid was sinbinned, the Welsh closing to a point behind - but another All Black try put the lead back out to eight points and the Tri Nations champions never looked back.

The five tries to one win also saw Dan Carter became the highest pointscorer in Test rugby with three conversions and two penalties, overtaking Jonny Wilkinson's world record of 1,178 points with his second kick of the match and reaching 1,188 by the final whistle.

Hosea Gear scored in each half and Mils Muliaina, Isaia Toeava and John Afoa got the other tries while Lee Byrne crossed very late for the home side.

Stephen Jones kicked six penalties and a conversion for Wales.

Jerome Kaino was named man of the match in his 38th Test.
