The former Bay of Plenty Steamers' coach, Kevin Schuler will join the Chiefs coaching team for the 2011 Super Rugby campaign as the resource coach.
He will join head coach Ian Foster along with assistant coaches Craig Stevenson and Scott McLeod.
Foster says with former lock Keith Robinson's absence this year, it opened up the need for a forward orientated coaching role and the Chiefs believe Kevin's experience as head coach of the Steamers will be a valuable addition to the group.
The Chiefs squad will begin their pre-season training on the 13th of December.
