Nadal beats Roddick

7:10 pm on 23 November 2010

The world tennis number one Rafael Nadal has ended his dismal run at the ATP World Tour Finals when he clawed his way past battling American Andy Roddick in three sets in London.

The 24-year-old lost all six sets he contested in last year's season-ending event and he lost his first today before storming back against the eighth seed.

Nadal, who has never won the ATP's year-ending tournament despite collecting every other silverware in the game, will face Novak Djokovic on Thursday in his second round robin match.

Djokovic earlier dispatched Tomas Berdych 6-3 6-3.
