The New Zealand Fastnet netball team has retained the fastnet world series world title with a 28-26 win over hosts England in the final in Liverpool.

Apart an opening match loss to Australia and a draw with Jamaica later in the tournament the defending champion Fastnet Ferns speed and passing ability proved to hot for their opponents to handle throughout the series.

Despite having just one Silver Fern in the Fastnet Ferns squad the team defended the title they won at the inaugural tournament last year against an England side full of their top international players.

The Ferns beat Jamaica 29-28 to advance to the final while England pipped Australia in the second semi.
