Gold Coast have moved within striking distance of a top two berth on the A-League football ladder courtesy of forward Joel Porter's double in Friday night's convincing win over Sydney FC at Skilled Park.
Porter scored his first goals of the season in the 3-1 victory in front of 2536 fans which enables Gold Coast to keep the pressure on first-placed Brisbane and second-placed Adelaide.
Gold Coast are just four points behind Adelaide and five shy of the Roar but with a game in hand.
The Wellington Phoenix play Central Coast in Wellington tonight.
