Mealamu argues his case at judiciary

8:19 am on 10 November 2010

The striking charge against Keven Mealamu is being heard in front of an International Rugby Board Judicial Officer in Glasgow..

Mealamu's being represented by the NZRU's UK-based lawyer Owen Eastwood and assistant coach Steve Hansen after being charged for what he said was an unintentional head clash with England's captain Lewis Moody last weekend at Twickenham.

While Mealamu faces a mimimum month-long ban if found guilty England's New Zealand-born hooker Dylan Hartley has been promoted.

Dylan Hartley replaced Steve Thompson early in the second half on Sunday and was awarded a try, despite a clear double movement.

He also escaped a citing for a blatant shoulder charge on the All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, who says it's disappointing Hartley isn't fronting the judiciary as well.

McCaw says it's frustrating that citing's aren't consistenct but there's no point in dwelling in it.
