The Nelson cyclist Jack Bauer holds a 3 second lead heading into the final day of the Tour of Southland.

3-time winner Hayden Roulston won yesterday's stage to move to second place on the tour, while previous leader Jeremy Yates is almost a minute and a half off the lead in third place.

Roulston says he knows how to win from here, having sealed two previous editions of the gruelling race on the final day.

There are 2 stages today, a 79km ride from Te Anau to Lumsden and then a 65km stage from Winton to Invercargil.
