Police investigating drug link in surfer's death?

Police are investigating the possibility that three-time surfing world champion Andy Irons died from a methadone overdose, according to a newspaper report in Hawaii.

The Honolulu Star Advertiser says a quantity of methadone was found in a container on a bedside table in Irons's hotel room in Dallas.

Irons, was competing in a world chanmpionship tour event in Puerto Rico but withdrew suffering from dengue fever.

He died on a stop over in Dallas, on his way back home to Hawaii where he was to seek treatment.
