Twaddle doesn't have it all his own way

The veteran New Zealand rower Nathan Twaddle admits it hasn't been all plain sailing for his quadruple sculls crew as they prepare for next week's World Championships on Lake Karapiro.

Twaddle spent six years rowing with George Bridgewater in the pair, winning a world championship title and an Olympic bronze medal.

Since then he's switched to sculling in a crew that includes Matthew Trott, John Storey and Rob Manson and this year they've improved enough to become title contenders.

While he's the most senior member of the crew, Twaddle admits he hasn't been doing all the talking.

The sculling heats start on Monday.
