So You Think no certainty for Melbourne Cup

7:57 am on 26 October 2010

A jockey who has won the Melbourne Cup twice has questioned So You Thinks ability to handle the hype and excitement of Flemington next Tuesday.

So You Think won the Cox Plate for the second time over the weekend to confirm a place in next week's Melbourne Cup, although trainer Bart Cumming won't rubber-stamp a start until after Saturday's MacKinnon Stakes.

Roy Higgins says the 4-year-old seemed spooked by the noise at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

If So You Think does start next week's Melbourne Cup it will have to overcome the biggest ever contingent of overseas runners with 11 overseas horses remaining among the 47 horses declared, nine from Europe and two from Asia.
