FIFA is investigating allegations that two of its officials offered to sell their votes in the contest to host the 2018 World Cup finals.

Reporters from the London Sunday Times posed as lobbyists for a consortium of American companies wanting to secure the tournament for the United States.

Nigeria's executive committee member Amos Adamu allegedly asked for a million dollars to build four artificial pitches, and the president of the Oceania Confederation, Reynald Temarii from Tahiti is also alleged to have asked for $3 million to finance a sports academy.

FIFA is due to announce both the 2018 and 2022 tournament hosts on the 2nd of December.
