Black Caps slip down ICC rankings

Bangladesh has joined the West Indies in the International Cricket Council's one day Championship rankings, while New Zealand has dropped below Pakistan after Bangladesh whitewashed the Blackcaps 4-0 in the five-match series in Mirpur.

Bangladesh had started the series on 53 ratings point and earned 13 ratings points after winning four of the five matches with one being washed out.

Bangladesh next hosts Zimbabwe in a five-match ODI series in December and can potentially have a taste of number-eight position as the West Indies will play five ODIs against Sri Lanka also in December.

In sharp contrast, New Zealand has plummeted to 96 ratings points after starting the series on 112.

As a result, the Black Caps have now dropped behind Pakistan into seventh position.
