Vettel comfortable at Suzuka in ominous sign for Webber

Possibly an ominous sign for Sebastian Vettel's Formula One team-mate, the championship leader Mark Webber, after the German cruised to victory for a second straight year at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Only two other drivers had ever won in successive years at Suzuka before, and both of them, Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher, went on to win the title.

Webber's now the championship leader by just 14 points from Vettel and third-place winner, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, and the Australian almost lost second place to Renault's Robert Kubica at the start.

He gained it back when the Pole came to a halt on lap three with the rear right wheel missing from his car.

But it was a cruise from pole to flag for Vettel.
