Auckland's National Provincial rugby Championship head coach, Mark Anscombe, has been appointed as the new coach of the New Zealand under-20 team for their 2011 campaign.

Anscombe, who's currently the side's assistant coach under Dave Rennie, will take over the head coaching role, with Rennie stepping down after three seasons with the under-20s.

Anscombe has been with the team for all three Junior World Championship wins, as a development coach for the first campaign in 2008, before moving into the assistant coach position.

The former Sharks and Wellington assistant coach, Chris Boyd, has been appointed as the new assistant coach.
