Caroline Wozniacki has become the first Danish tennis player to top the world rankings after reaching the quarter-finals at the China Open.
20-year-old Wozniacki has dethroned the American Serena Williams, who hasn't played since winning Wimbledon in July.
The Dane is the 20th woman to top the standings since their inception in 1975, and she's the third player in the last two years to have reached the pinnacle of tennis without winning one of the four grand slam titles.
