The Australian track cyclist Shane Perkins is in trouble after reacting angrily to his disqualification from the motor-paced kierin event at the Commonwealth Games.
Perkins, the pre-race favourite, was thrown out of the competition for dangerous riding causing two rivals to crash, after which he gave officials a two-fingered salute.
Perkins' indiscretion came a day after the Australian wrestler Hassene Fkiri was stripped of a silver medal for making a similar gesture to officials after he'd lost his gold medal bout to an Indian wrestler.
Tunisia-born Fkiri has been confined to the athletes village for the rest of the Games and he'll be undertaking 12 months community work once he gets home.
