All NZ swimmers make it to Commonwealth Games semi-finals

All of the New Zealand swimmers in action this afternoon have secured semi-final places in their respective Commonwealth Games events in Delhi.

Glenn Snyders has qualified for the men's 100-metre breaststroke semi in second place, with a time of 1:01.30, with the top qualifier posting a new Commonwealth Games record.

Also posting the second-fastest qualifying time was Hayley Palmer in the womens 100-metre freestyle, with fellow New Zealanders Natasha Hind and Penelope Marshall making it through in 10th and 11th place.

Daniel Bell qualified ninth fastest in the men's 50-metre butterfly, while Moss Burmester qualified in 11th place in the same event.

In the women's 100-metre backstroke, Melissa Ingram posted the fifth fastest time, while Emily Thomas qualified in 10th place.

All four semi-finals will be held after 11.30 tonight.
