The first Australia-India cricket test is in the balance after an Australian fightback in the final session of day four in Mohali.

Medium pacer Ben Hilfenhaus took three weeks in the final session to reduce India to 55 for 4, needing 216 to win.

Earlier the Indian pace bowlers Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan had spearheaded their attack which demolished Australia for only 192 in their second innings.
