Docherty wins triathlon in Los Angeles

The New Zealand triathlete, Bevan Docherty, announced his return to race fitness with an impressive victory in a triathlon in Los Angeles.

Docherty finished first in a little more than 1-hour 50minutes in a world class field, including the recently crowned 2010 ITU World Championships Series winner, Javier Gomez of Spain.

Gomez finished second, 13 seconds behind Docherty.

New Zealander Clark Ellice also raced well, finishing in 9th in race five of the six race series.

The triathlon attracts nearly three-thousand participants every year.
