Records continue to fall at age group champs

The records continued to tumble on the third night of finals at the New Zealand Age Group Short Course Swimming Championships in Wellington.

A further seven records were broken last night to take the total to 16 so far.

The outstanding Christchurch swimmer Sophia Batchelor continued on her record-setting blitz with two more to take her personal tally to seven national records in three days.

The 15 year old took more than a second off the previous record in the 200m freestyle and later took half a second off the 100m backstroke record.

Howick Pakuranga star Corey Main made the biggest breakthrough last night, setting a new record in the boys 15 years 100m freestyle.,,, his time took half a second off the mark held by former Olympian John Steel.
