Penalty heartbreak for Japan as Korea take under-17s title

Korea Republic has won the under-17 women's football World Cup, beating Japan 5-4 on penalties in the final in Trinidad and Tobago.

The two sides couldn't be separated across regular and extra time, with the scores locked up at 3-3 at full-time and no scoring in extra time.

So the game went to penalties, Japan missed their fifth shot while the Koreans didn't, sealing the nation's first world title in any age group, gender or category.
