Canadian sports officials say Canadian athletes will only go to Delhi for the Commonwealth Games when concerns over the athletes' village cleanliness and safety are addressed.
The Canadian women's field hockey team, totalling about 20 players and coaches, as well as Team Canada's administrative staff, have delayed their departure for India.
If conditions in New Delhi improve, they may leave on Monday or Tuesday.
Some nations, notably England and Scotland, have reserved decisions about going, while several top athletes, including two Canadian archers, have already announced they will not participate in the Games after the collapse of a stadium roof.
