The New Zealand Olympic committee has confirmed it still intends sending a team to the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
The NZOC met in Auckland on Friday and was briefed on the problems in the athletes' village by committee president Mike Stanley and secretary-general Barry Maister, after a flying visit to Delhi.
Stanley says the government in India's acknowledged the issues which prompted New Zealand team management to delay the arrival of athletes until Tuesday, because they regard the accommodation as uninhabitable.
He says what they found in Delhi was inexcusable and unacceptable but there's been a change in leadership and are now hopeful things can be turned around.
Stanley says there's still concern about the as yet untested transport system and about health and hygiene in the village but these are being reviewed on a daily basis.
