6:09 am on 23 September 2010

New Zealand Olympic Committee officials have arrived in Delhi to inspect Commonwealth Games facilities and security, after the team manager criticised the accommodation for athletes.

The NZOC president Mike Stanley and secretary general Barry Maister (pron MAY STA) went to India a week earlier than planned, after chef de mission Dave Currie described the athletes' village as uninhabitable.

Currie will show Stanley and Maister around the village later today while a security assessment will also be carried out.

The first New Zealand athletes are due to arrive in Delhi on Saturday.
