Cricket's governing body, the ICC, has announced it is investigating allegations surrounding last night's third one day match between England and Pakistan at the Oval in London.
Pakistan won the match by 23 runs, keeping the five-match series alive 2-1.
The ICC's Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat says a source has told The Sun newspaper that a certain scoring pattern would emerge during certain stages of the match and, broadly speaking, that information appears to have been correct.
Mr Lorgat says that the ICC does not know that anything untoward has occurred, but believes a full investigation is warranted.
The new claims have emerged as a police file detailing evidence on claims that Pakistan cricketers accepted cash bribes to take part in spot-fixing during a match against England was handed to prosecutors.
Scotland Yard says the Crown Prosecution Service will consider evidence that there was a conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
