The former All Black second-five Aaron Mauger is the new Professional Development Manager for Canterbury Rugby and the Crusaders.
Mauger played 45 Tests, 88 matches for the Crusaders and 42 for Canterbury between 1999 and 2007.
He moved to England after the 2007 World Cup and returned to Christchurch with his family in June after a persistent back injury ended his playing career with Leicester.
The current development manager Dave Hewett will join the Crusaders coaching team of Todd Blackadder and Daryl Gibson at the end of the year.
