Lawn bowlers train on croquet lawns

The national lawn bowls coach Dave Edwards says they've done pretty much all they can to prepare their team for next month's Commonwealth Games, but Delhi conditions are stacked against them.

New Zealand Bowls has a good record at the Commonwealth Games, but managed just one bronze medal 4 years ago in Melbourne.

Edwards says a very good plan was put in place after Melbourne.

Their squad has had camps in Fiji and Malaysia to try and get use to the heat and the slower greens they'll bowl on in Delhi.

Edwards says the speed of the Delhi artificial greens shocked everyone at the tournament there in April.... and they've struggled to replicate them here, so his players have been practicing on croquet lawns.
