The former All Black Stephen Donald will return to rugby action on Thursday night after being named on the Waikato bench for their provincial rugby match against Southland in Hamilton.
Donald suffered a chest muscle injury at the end of May which required an operation.
The Waikato coach Chris Gibbes says Donald has come through his injury rehab really well, he's been working with both Chief's and Waikato trainers and he's itching to get
back on the field.
The first five will need to impress in the second half of the ITM Cup if he's to be considered for the All Blacks end-of-year tour.
