The All Whites and Wellington Phoenix football coach Ricki Herbert says he's happy to have a finalised his future for the next 2 years with both teams.

Herbert has signed a 2-year deal with New Zealand Football to stay as national coach and they've also entered into a formal arrangement with the Phoenix to ensure Herbert will be free from his club commitments whilst fulfilling All White duties.

Herbert, who took over the national team in 2005, guided the team to the 2009 Confederations Cup and to the 2010 World Cup.

He says the deal now gives some clarity for both teams....

The intention is for both parties to assess the requirements of the role at the end of the initial term, with a view towards extension through to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Herbert's next games in charge will be the All Whites matches against Honduras at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday October the 9th and Paraguay in Wellington the following Tuesday.
