Sebastien Ogier overcame the challenge of overnight leader Petter Solberg to win the Rally of Japan, the 10th leg of the 13-round World Rally Championship.
The Frenchman covered the 26 stages in 3 hours 10 minutes and 26 seconds nearly 16 seconds quicker than fellow Citroen driver Solberg.
Jari-Matti Latvala of Finland finished third in his Ford Focus while Citoren's overall championship leader Sebastien Loeb finished in fifth place.
It was Ogier's second win of the season, following his victory at the Rally of Portugal in May.
Loeb collected 10 points from the Rally of Japan for a total of 201, keeping him firmly entrenched at the top of the overall standings well ahead of Ogier's 158 and Latvala on 132 points.
Loeb can secure his seventh world title on home turf in the Rally de France starting on September the 30th.
