The France football defender, William Gallas, is expected to make his debut for the English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, and could even be handed the captain's armband.

The 33-year-old former Arsenal captain and Chelsea defender will become the first player to play for all three London teams, having joined Spurs last month on a one-year deal after being released by the Gunners.

The Spurs coach, Harry Redknapp, says there's every chance he'll play Gallas against West Bromwich Albion, and is considering making him captain.

Tottenham have lost their regular skipper, Michael Dawson, for up to two months due to injury.
