The New Zealand motor racing driver Scott Dixon is clinging to the IndyCar championship leaders after finishing 8th in the latest round in Chicago.

After starting 15th on the grid, Dixon challenged for a lead a couple of times, but wasn't able to maintain the pace required.

His Ganassi team-mate Dario Franchitti of Scotland won the race, while championship leader Will Power of Australia finished 16th.

With 3 rounds remaining, Power leads by 23 points from Franchitti, with another 62 points back to Dixon in third place.
