Tietjens thrashes sevens squad again

True to form the New Zealand rugby sevens team has been thrashed for two days at a training camp in Auckland as coach Gordan Tietjens maximises his short time with the players.

Tietjens only had his squad for the two-days before they head off to Dubai at the end of next month, then Delhi for the Commonwealth Games.

Winger Sherwin Stowers of Counties-Manukau thinks the fitness levels needed for the 15-a-side game are vastly lower than those Tietjens demands for his sevens sides - and he knows he and the others had better find the time for the extra fitness work they've been ordered to do alongside their regular provincial training.
