The Spanish football club Real Madrid has denied the existence of a secret agreement by which Manchester United will sell Cristiano Ronaldo to the Primera Liga champions at the end of this season.

Spanish daily El Mundo reports a Real director has been overheard talking about the alleged accord, prompting a furious response from United manager Alex Ferguson who said he "wouldn't sell a virus" to the Madrid club.

The Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon says on the club's website it's absolutely false that there is any agreement.

Ronaldo refused to talk about Real Madrid on Friday after United booked their place in Sunday's Club World Cup final, saying he was happy with the English Premier League champions.
