The Sydney Spirit's licence has returned to the control of the Australian National basketball League after another failure by the club's former owner, Greg Evans, to respond to an official notice.
Evans, the sole-director of Razorbacks Entertainment, failed to even respond after the NBL issued a default notice against him last month.
The NBL said Razorbacks Entertainment was given until the close of business on Tuesday to remedy the default notice but failed to comply by the deadline.
The Spirit will continue to play out the remainder of the season under the terms of the rescue package extended as a lifeline by the NBL to the Spirit players and coaching staff.
The Spirit's next game is next Thursday against the New Zealand Breakers.
